Walrus Audio Lillian Analog Phaser Pedal Overview
The Walrus Audio Lillian Analog Phaser Pedal is named after a female WWII pilot called Lillian Yonally who was part of the W.A.S.P program (Woman Air Force Service Pilots). Inspired by her heroic flights traversing dangerous skies, the Walrus Audio Lillian Analogue Phaser Pedal was born.
The Walrus Audio Lillian Analog Phaser Pedal is an analogue, multi-stage phaser pedal that is inspired by the popular Julia Chorus pedal by Walrus Audio. It has Rate, Width, Feedback, and D-P-V blend controls, and is packed with a huge range of tones, from clean white trails to pulsating, whirling analogue phase effects. The Lillian also has top-mounted input, output and power jacks so you can save space on your pedalboard, a soft switch relay bypassing.
Here’s what the different controls do:
Rate
Lets you set the speed at which the LFO sweeps. On a lower setting, you can go from little to no movement, and on higher settings, you can get crazy whirling phase tones.
Width
This controls the frequency range that the filters sweep through. At a lower setting, you get a narrow range and less dramatic effect, and at a higher setting you get a wider range which means you get a more defined phaser tone.
Feedback
This determines how much of your phase-shifted signal is sent back through the filter stages. On a lower setting, it delivers classic phaser tones, and on a higher setting, it has a more resonant filter sound.
Stages toggle switch
Allows you to select 4 or 6 stages that alter the overall voice of the effect - with 4 stages there are 2 swept filter notches, which deliver a warm and tight phasing, and for 6 stages there are 3 swept notches that deliver a more complex filtered sound.
D-P-V
The D-P-V control is taken from the Walrus Audio Julia V2 Analog Chorus pedal and lets you blend between dry, phase-shifted, and vibrato tones, and gives you control over the intensity and effect type.
When the D-P-V is turned all the way down, you will hear no effect. When it’s set to noon it is equal parts dry and wet which is the traditional Phaser setting. When it’s turned all the way up, the signal will be fully wet which delivers a pitch vibrato. The D-P-V control is great for experimenting with different ratios of wet and dry blends to find unique phase and vibrato combinations.
Smart Momentary Bypass Switch
When the bypass is off, press and hold it down temporarily to activate the effect. When you release the switch, the effect is turned off.
