Walrus Audio Fathom Multi-Function Reverb Pedal Overview
The Walrus Audio Fathom Multi-Function Reverb Pedal is a versatile, compact reverb pedal by boutique pedal makers Walrus Audio, featuring four different reverb algorithms to choose from that deliver anything from small room reverb to oceanic washed-out tones and lush, modulated trails and never-ending decay. Get classic reverb tones with some extra flavours mixed in.
The Walrus Audio Fathom Multi-Function Reverb Pedal has five control knobs so you can fine-tune your tone - Decay (tail length of the reverb), Dampen (treble roll-off). X (changes the functionality depending on the algorithm used), Program (selects the reverb type). The mini-toggle switch adds options to control the modulation intensity.
Algorithms
Hall - A wide, open and vast reverb sound with decay that ends with high-frequency roll-off. The X knob adjusts the pre-delay.
Plate - A full body reverb with smooth decay. The X knob adjusts the pre-delay.
Lo-fi - A filtered reverb with decay ranging from a thin AM-sounding radio to a warm sound. The X knob adjusts filter width.
Sonar - Reverb fed with both high and low octaves and the ability to blend the octaves with the X knob to get tones from another dimension.
The Walrus Audio Fathom Multi-Function Reverb Pedal also has momentary functions - when the pedal is off, press and hold the Bypass Switch to temporarily engage the effect to add a touch of reverb. When you release the switch, it turns the effect off. You can press and hold the Sustain Switch while the pedal is on to extend the reverb for some dreamy crescendos.
Trails Mode
Unplug the pedal then press and hold down the Bypass Switch for two seconds while plugging the pedal back in to turn the trails mode on or off.
