This limited-edition Stratocaster has been lovingly crafted by Fender Custom Shop’s luthiers. With a special set of Master Builder Paul Waller-designed pickups and an enticing vintage spec, this Strat effortlessly combines the best of classic and contemporary.

Classic Feel & Sound

Whilst this Custom Shop Stratocaster was built in the modern age, it’s based on a '56 model - which gives it an authentically vintage foundation.

This is enhanced by the lovely 1-piece Rift Sawn Maple neck, which features an old-school '57 style Soft V profile and medium vintage 47095 frets. The Rift Sawn construction provides superior stability and a clean, consistent wood grain. Giving this Strat a modern edge to its playability is its compound radius, which allows comfortable chording in the lower register and effortless bending as you go up to the dusty end.

This Strat’s beautifully resonant off-centre Alder body is coated in a nitrocellulose finish - which looks better as it ages and promotes sustain - and boasts '57 style deep body contours. The piece of Alder that was used to make this guitar was selected for its lighter weight.

Gorgeous Worn-In Look

This Strat features a hybrid Relic/Heavy Relic treatment, which gives it the endearing look and feel of a well-played instrument. A particular highlight of this process is the neck, which has been carefully sanded down to provide the satin-smooth playing experience that you’d usually only find one that’s decades-old.

Sporting meticulously aged hardware, characterful scratches and exposed wood - this Strat has a story that’s ready to be added to.

Unique Strat Tone

Arguably the stand out feature of this Custom Shop Stratocaster is its trio of hand-wound Troposphere single-coils. Designed by acclaimed Master Builder Paul Waller, these underwound pickups have a unique tone that is delicately nuanced and provides extra headroom for crunchier sounds. Using '50s style formvar wire for the bridge, '60s style enamel wire for the neck & a hum-killing reverse-wound/reverse-polarity in the middle, these pickups have an undeniably sweet sound that’s unlike any other Strat we’ve played.

Equipped with a 5-way selector and Vintage Modern #2 wiring (with a treble-saving tone bleed that preserves note clarity), all the crisp, classic Strat tones are here.

Modern Reliability

This limited-run Strat seamlessly combines the best aspects of a vintage instrument and a modern one. It’s essentially an upgraded '50s Strat that’s a lot more reliable (and affordable). It’s a great solution if you love vintage Fenders and need a rock-solid workhorse that you can count on to sound incredible at your gig, session or at home.
