Fender Custom Shop 1957 Stratocaster Heavy Relic, Texas Tea Overview
Crafted by the artisan luthiers at the Fender Custom Shop using choice tonewoods and premium components, the quality of this jaw-dropping '57 Stratocaster is undeniable. With a sleek Texas Tea finish and an authentically '50s playing experience, this Strat seamlessly melds the best of classic and contemporary.
Classic Feel & Sound
Using one of the most sought after Fender instruments - the 1957 Stratocaster - as its base, this Custom Shop has an authentically vintage foundation. The “golden era” playing experience is catered for by the lovely Quarter Sawn Maple neck and fretboard, which are constructed from one piece of Maple. The neck’s '57 style Soft V profile feels fittingly old-school and great in the hand. If you’re a thumb-over player, you’ll love this neck. The narrow tall 6105 frets allow effortless bending and add a modern edge to the way this Strat plays.
The period-correct Ash body is responsible for this Strat’s eminently resonant and rich natural voice, with a crisp attack that brings out the definition of your notes. It’s coated in a nitrocellulose lacquer, which bolsters sustain and looks better over time.
Gorgeous Worn-In Look
This Stratocaster has been the Custom Shop’s Heavy Relic treatment. This is the most intense of all the Relic processes, with the oxidised hardware, exposed wood and battle scars that arise from decades of dedicated playing and performing. If you want a guitar that plays like a worn-in workhorse, this Strat will fit the bill.
Classic Strat Tone
Equipped with a trio of beautiful handwound '57 Strat single-coils and Vintage Modern #2 wiring, this guitar can pull off those quintessential Fender tones with ease. With these pickups, crisp articulation, wide dynamics and smooth warmth are the name of the game. The middle pickup features a Reverse-Wound/Reverse-Polarity construction, which eliminates unwanted hum. Plus, unlike a Strat made in the '50s, you have a 5-way selector switch so you can easily access those iconic in-between tones.
Modern Reliability
Where this Stratocaster has an edge over a vintage model is its astounding reliability, thanks to the Custom Shop’s world-class craftsmanship and their use of top-quality components. The result is a Fender guitar that is vintage where it counts - the sound, the look & the feel - and as rock-solid as a modern one. If you need to bring a classic tone to your gig or session, this Custom Shop Strat won’t let you down!
Featuring a sophisticated “black gold” Texas Tea finish and a tantalising '50s spec, this Custom Shop Stratocaster has a look to match its stunning tone.
