The Catalinbread Octapussy is a lot more than an Octavia-clone. Dynamic Response

Thanks to its straightforward and elegant design (which uses only three silicon transistors & two diodes), the Octapussy boasts a beautifully open, uncompressed and dynamic response. This is a massive improvement over those vintage units, which tended to be overly compressed and pinched your tone.

Touch-sensitivity

Thanks to its intelligent driver design and custom-voiced preamp, the Octapussy is incredibly touch-responsive and remains quiet even at extreme settings.

Highly Interactive

With the Octapussy, Catalinbread have created an experience that works closely in tandem with the way you play, your guitar’s pickups and the volume & tone knobs. The number of sounds you can create by adjusting where you are on the neck, how hard you hit the strings, how many strings you play and your guitar’s settings is immense. You can conjure up sitars, synths, cellos, soaring psychedelic leads, pure octave melodies - and more - with ease.

Powerful Controls

When you dive into the Octapussy’s settings, its open and responsive nature remains. The Gain control has been dialled in to sound usable at any setting and increases fuzz, upper mid-range frequencies & harmonics as you turn it up. The Body knob boosts the bass response and also enhances harmonics. When pushing the Gain & Body controls to the max, you can use the Attenuate knob to tame it if it gets too wild.

Get Stacking

An advantage of the Octapussy is it stacks very well with other gain pedals. Plus, it sounds great going into a clean or dirty amp. Used in conjunction with Catalinbread’s Foundation Overdrives, the tone is immense!

Low Current Draw

You can power the Octapussy with 9-18V DC power or with a 9V battery. The Octapussy draws a tiny amount of power so your battery will last for ages.

Special Internal Switch

There’s an internal switch to deactivate the LED. Catalinbread claims that this provides optimal touch-sensitivity so open up the Octapussy and give it a try. You’ll definitely know when it’s switched on so we reckon the extra tonal mojo is worth it.
