Providing the famed Jazz Bass playability is the silky quarter sawn Maple neck, which features a carefully sculpted '60 J-Bass Oval U profile. The neck is adorned with a premium AAA Rosewood fretboard and vintage-style Medium Jumbo 6150 frets.
Catering for this Jazz Bass’ rich & balanced natural voice is its 2-piece Alder body. Once you’ve played this bass, it’s easy to hear why Alder has been one of Fender’s tonewoods of choice for decades, offering crystalline note definition and impressive sustain. The era-correct nitrocellulose lacquer looks incredible and promotes resonance by allowing the bass to “breathe”.
Gorgeous Worn-In Look
This Custom Shop J-Bass has an abundance of old-school mojo on tap, thanks to its meticulous Relic treatment. From the numerous finish checks to the rustic aged hardware to the belt buckle scratches on the rear, everything about this bass looks like a trusty workhorse that’s survived decades of gigs.
Vintage J-Bass Tone
All the essential and distinctive Jazz Bass tones are accounted for, with a duo of Vintage J-Bass single-coils catering for this bass’ crisp, articulate sound. With a pair of pickups and individual volume controls for each one, a wealth of tones can be effortlessly conjured up. From hollow slapped bass to aggressively picked rock, this 1961 Jazz Bass is primed to accommodate a vast range of genres and playing techniques.
