Classic Feel & Sound
This Fender Custom Shop Telecaster uses the iconic '51 model as the basis for its design, providing it with an unmistakable “Golden Era” vibe. Boasting a spec that truly says “vintage”.
The premium tonewoods are a particular highlight. The body is carved from a Lightweight sorted piece of vintage correct Ash, which delivers the strong, sweet resonance and singing sustain that Ash is renowned for. The translucent Blonde nitrocellulose finish allows the body’s stunning wood grain to shine through. The beautiful AA flame quarter sawn Maple neck plays every bit as well as it looks. With its 10/56 “V” neck profile and narrow tall 6105 frets, this Custom Shop Tele offers a vintage feel, with modern playability. This guitar also features a 7.25-9.5 inch compound radius fretboard. Allowing you to get the super comfortable feel of a vintage profile closer to the nut, and all the benefits of a flatter radius as you make your way up the neck.
Gorgeous Worn-In Look
With its Custom Shop Journeyman Relic treatment, this 51 Tele has been imparted with the endearing wear and tear of a well loved workhorse. Every part of this guitar, from the numerous finish checks to the oxidised hardware, has been meticulously and realistically aged by the Fender Custom Shop Team.
Vintage Tele Tone
Continuing on the true vintage theme this guitar is loaded with the Custom Shop Hand Wound 50-51 Blackguard pickup set. For fans of the unmistakable tone of a Blackguard Tele with Punchy Lows, Fat Mids and Crisp, Twangy Highs. The Hand-Wound 50/51 Tele pickups are faithful recreations of the originals. Crafted with a large diameter, unbeveled alnico 3 magnets in the bridge pickup and alnico 5 in the neck, they are hand-wound using 43-gauge formvar wire for authentic performance and sound.
Modern Reliability
This Telecaster has been crafted by the incredible Fender Custom Shop luthiers, using only the finest materials and components. While you could easily mistake a lot of Fender Custom Shop guitars for a vintage model, they’re as reliable and road-worthy as a modern guitar should be. Whilst a vintage guitar may run into issues with maintenance (and cost significantly more), this Telecaster is primed to bring that sought-after “Golden Era” flavour to any gig or session.
