Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster HS Heavy Relic, Butterscotch Blonde Overview
With this stunning Telecaster, the Fender Custom Shop have demonstrated why their guitar’s are among the finest in the world. This particular Tele offers something out of the ordinary, merging traditional features with ones you may not expect to find on a classic Tele. The result is a truly remarkable instrument that has lovely character of its own.
Vintage Feel & Sound
This Fender Custom Shop Telecaster uses the classic '52 model as its basis, providing it with an unmistakably vintage vibe. The comfortable '65 Strat C neck profile and medium jumbo frets provide a distinctive playing experience and tone that makes it stand out from other Telecasters. It’s akin to a '50s Tele that’s been heavily modified, giving it a distinctive feel and tone.
The lovely Ash body gives this Tele a sweet, resonant tone with chiming highs, defined lows and strong mids. The nitrocellulose Butterscotch Blonde finish highlights the gorgeous grain. The one-piece Maple neck has the timeless feel of one that has been played for years.
Gorgeous Worn-In Look
With its Custom Shop Heavy Relic treatment, this Telecaster has bags of rustic mojo. Every aspect of this guitar, from the bridge to the headstock has undergone a meticulous process to give it the endearing feel and aesthetic of a well-loved, battle-hardened instrument.
Vintage Tele Tone
Enhancing this guitar’s “modified” character is its pickups, with a warm PAF-style Seymour Duncan '59 neck humbucker and a twangy 50-51 Blackguard single-coil in the bridge. It’s a potent pairing that sounds especially good in Position 2, where both pickups are engaged. If you’re in the mood to emulate Keef (the sound, not the lifestyle) this is the guitar to do it with!
Modern Reliability
This Telecaster has been crafted by the incredible Fender Custom Shop luthiers, using only the finest materials and components. This means that, while this Telecaster could have been made in the '50s, it’s as reliable and road-worthy as a modern guitar should be. Whilst a vintage guitar may run into issues with maintenance (and cost significantly more), this Telecaster is primed to bring an old-school flavour to any gig or session and be rock solid.
This Custom Shop Telecaster offers something special, combining a classic '52 Telecaster with a punchy SD humbucker and a slick '65 Strat neck profile. Combine this with a great look that’s decidedly Keith Richards - you’ll be more than satisfied with this wonderful Telecaster.
