The Fender Custom Shop have once again demonstrated their incredible craftsmanship with this outstanding 1960 Telecaster Custom. Whilst its spec and sound is undeniably '60s in character, its modern Texas Tea finish and hot Twisted Tele pickups provide this Tele with a sleek contemporary look and tone.

Classic Feel

This fantastic Custom Shop instrument features a 1960 Telecaster Custom as its basis, which provides it with a distinctly golden-era feel and tone. At the core of its vintage heart is the two-piece Alder body, which boasts a crisp, balanced tone with a sweet, singing sustain. There’s a reason it’s been the go-to tonewood for Fender over the years! The thin nitrocellulose gives this Tele an airier, more open sound and promotes resonance by allowing the guitar’s tonewood to “breathe”. Plus, its porous nature means it checks and ages in a characterful way over time - just like a vintage Fender.

The comfortable and eminently playable quarter-sawn Maple neck features a '60s-style Oval “C” profile, which excels with a wide range of playing styles. The neck is adorned with a AAA Dark Rosewood fretboard (which was hand-selected for its alluringly dark colour) and vintage-style Narrow Tall 6105 frets, which are perfect for expressive bending and vibrato styles.

Gorgeous Worn-In Look

The particular Custom Shop Tele has undergone the Relic treatment, which sits between Journeyman Relic and Heavy Relic in intensity. Every aspect of this guitar has been carefully treated and aged to give it the timeless worn-in mojo of a well-loved Fender guitar that’s withstood decades of gigging, from the numerous scratches & dents, finishing checking and oxidised hardware.

One of this Custom Shop Telecaster’s standout features is its potent Twisted Tele pickups, which have a hint of Stratocaster in their sound. These Fender Custom Shop-designed pickups pack a tonne of heat due to their heavily overwound construction and the neck & bridge have been tailored to their position to provide an optimal sonic response.
