PRS S2 Custom 24, Dark Cherry Sunburst Overview
S2 Custom 24The S2 Custom 24 range is the entry-level version of the American ‘Core’ PRS series. They have the 85/15 ‘S’ treble and bass pickups with 3-way pickup selector, PRS patented tremolo and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with bird inlays.
S2 sits above the SE variants in the Custom 24 range, which are designed to be more affordable than the Core range. The main differences are that the neck on the S2 Custom 24 is made from mahogany and has a ‘Pattern Regular’ neck shape which is similar to the industry standard ‘C’ shape. The neck on the SE Custom 24 neck is made from maple and has a ‘Wide Thin’ shape.
Designed around the guitar that started it all, the Custom 24, this limited-edition model in a McCarty Sunburst finish captures the foundational elements of the iconic model and adds the musical functionality of the Paul’s Guitar, creating a new, versatile platform.

The Custom 24 uses the patented Gen III tremolo system, offering perfect intonation and increased sustain. The Custom 24 typically comes with a Figured Maple carved top, lightweight Mahogany back, and a Mahogany ‘pattern thin’ neck, which provides comfort while playing, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard with abalone bird inlays.

Overview by PRS
The S2 Custom 24 takes the original PRS guitar, the Custom 24, and re-imagines it with stripped-down features and a new aesthetic. Retaining the classic maple top/mahogany back combination with our classic body shape and an asymmetrical beveled top, this guitar has a resonant, powerful voice. Its versatility comes from its 85/15 ""S"" pickups with push/pull tone knob, and 3-way blade switch. Familiar for PRS players of old, and a fresh take for players of all types.
