JHS Pedals Crayon Overdrive Fuzz Distortion Pedal Overview
The JHS Crayon is based on the distortion tones from the JHS Colour Box in a more compact, portable unit. Get a British-voiced preamp distortion, fuzz, overdrive and boost in a compact, versatile pedal. It has an analogue signal path and is based on the design of a classic Neve mixing console as found in Abbey Road Studios, providing classic ‘direct-in’ tones you get when plugging a guitar directly into a mic preamp
The JHS Crayon Pedal has 3 control knobs, Master and Pre-Vol controls the gain, delivering a subtle low-gain warmth on low and as you turn it up you get a dirtier fuzz tone, which will start to gate out at around 75%, and Tilt, which is an active tone control that is flat at noon, so turning it down will boost the bass and cut the treble, and turning it up will boost the treble and cut the bass. There’s also a Hi-Pass toggle switch which lets you shift the balance between highs and lows, so you can cut through the mix or get lo-fi tones.
This is great for anyone who wants that classic direct-in distortion sound in a more compact, portable format than its bigger brother, the Colour Box. Powered by a 9v DC power supply (sold separately).
