Ibanez AMH90 Artcore Expressionist, Cherry Red Flat Overview

The Ibanez AMH90 Artcore Expressionist is a hollow body guitar with a linden (more commonly known as basswood) body, which is celebrated for having a balanced, full-bodied sound that’s an excellent pairing with humbuckers. The AMH90 boasts a 3-piece neck that marries Nyatoh and Maple - it plays beautifully and adds a complementary brightness to the guitar’s tone. Smooth chord shapes and elegant runs are facilitated by the bound ebony fretboard.

The Ibanez AMH90 features two Super 58 pickups, which can also be found in the Japanese-made Prestige models. These humbuckers are favoured by jazz heroes such as Pat Metheny, George Benson and John Scofield due to their warm, balanced articulation. They also have buckets of bite and growl, making them suitable for more aggressive genres. The AMH90 has an extended tonal palette thanks to its Tri-sound switch, which gives the neck humbucker two additional voices (parallel wiring and coil-split). Rock-solid playability and precise intonation are provided by the Gibraltar Performer bridge, which is designed for simple use and adjustment, and a VT06 tailpiece. The AMH90’s premium looks are completed by gold hardware and either a striking Black or alluring Cherry Red Flat finish.

Overview by Ibanez

For a decade now, Ibanez has continued to energize the hollow-body segment with wide range of designs-with everything from rockin’ hybrids to straight-up jazz-boxes. The new Expressionist line begins yet another chapter in the Artcore story. The Expressionist difference? Jazz fans will recognize the Ibanez original Super 58 pickups-the preferred pickup of George Benson, Pat Metheny and John Scofield on their own Signature models. A jazz favorite, yes, but as funk guitarist Eric Krasno has been proving, the Super 58s perform well in a variety of situations. Warm, balanced articulation, and excellent response characterize the Super 58 pickups.
