Ibanez AF95 Artcore, Brown Sunburst Overview
The Ibanez AF95 Artcore is a hollow body semi-acoustic guitar with a classic Spruce top and Linden back and sides. Linden, also known as Basswood - is a lightweight tonewood which is renowned for its warm, balanced sound that compliments humbuckers. The neck is crafted from a combination of Nyatoh and Maple, which is topped off by a luxurious bound Ebony fretboard with acrylic block inlays. The result is a beautifully resonant instrument that looks, sounds and feels like a premium instrument - all at an affordable price!
The Ibanez AF95 Artcore boasts dual Super 58 humbucking pickups, which are the same pickups used in the Prestige models. Favoured by legendary players such as John Scofield, George Benson and Pat Metheny, these pickups excel at expressive and articulate playing. Whilst they’re associated with jazzers, these pickups are adept at other styles including blues and funk. The AF95’s rock-solid playability and classy looks are rounded off by the VT14 tailpiece, gold hardware, and Brown Sunburst finish.
Overview by Ibanez
For a decade now, Ibanez has continued to energize the hollow-body segment with wide range of designs-with everything from rockin’ hybrids to straight-up jazz-boxes. The new Expressionist line begins yet another chapter in the Artcore story. The Expressionist difference? Jazz fans will recognize the Ibanez original Super 58 pickups-the preferred pickup of George Benson, Pat Metheny and John Scofield on their own Signature models. A jazz favorite, yes, but as funk guitarist Eric Krasno has been proving, the Super 58s perform well in a variety of situations. Warm, balanced articulation, and excellent response characterize the Super 58 pickups.
