Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Dale Wilson '60s Stratocaster Heavy Relic, Green Gold Patina/Sunburst Overview

There’s no doubt that this handmade Fender Custom Shop '60s Stratocaster in Green Gold Patina/Sunburst is a masterpiece of an instrument. Personally crafted from start to finish by artisan Master Builder Dale Wilson - using hand-selected tonewoods and components - the look, tone and feel of this '60s Strat is something to behold.

The beautiful combination of a resonant 2-piece Alder body, a gorgeous Birdseye Maple neck and glass-like AAA Rosewood fretboard results in a clear, articulate and balanced voice. The body has been sculpted to a '60s Strat shape, whilst the neck has been carved to a comfortable '60-style Oval “C” profile for that authentic vintage Fender feel. The 7.25" fretboard is adorned with perfectly dressed Narrow Tall 6105 frets, a popular fretwire that presents a slightly more modern feel than a Vintage fret.

A highlight of this Master Built Custom Shop Stratocaster’s impressive feature-set is its trio of Master Design Limited single-coils, which were wound by Fender’s “Queen of Pickups” Josefina Campos. The quintessential chime and articulation that you’d expect from a prime Strat are present and accounted for thanks to these incredible pickups.

Giving this '60s Strat its distinctive appearance is its striking Green Gold Patina over 3-Tone Sunburst finish and Heavy Relic treatment. The Heavy Relic ageing process imparts the endearing worn-in wear of a battle-hardened workhorse that’s survived plenty of gigs over the decades.
