Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-200 Acoustic, Aged Vintage Sunburst Overview
The Gibson J-200 could be the most immediately-identifiable Flat-Top acoustic guitar ever made. The J-200 is an iconic guitar, lusted after by guitar players across the world. Its popularity has been validated by sitting on the bellies of some of the biggest artists in the world, like Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan, and last but not least, Lefty Frizzell.
Quality Tonewoods
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-200 is constructed with a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid Figured Maple Back and Sides. Sitka spruce is the most common spruce wood in use today. Sitka spruce is good for volume and will age nicely over the first four or five years of the guitar’s life, improving with time.
Maple is famously the back and sides for SJ-200s and sometimes appears on other large-sized guitars. The idea is that maple, being hard, dense and very reflective of high frequencies, works well with a large bassy body in need of some clarity. It also can look absolutely stunning. While a guitar gets a certain amount of volume and sustains from its solid top, a solid back and sides will impart a great deal of character to a guitar.
Powerful Projection
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-200 has a Long Scale Length, measuring at 25.551". Long scale lengths cause the strings to be held under a higher tension at concert pitch. This means a louder, more powerful sound, fizzing with harmonic overtones.
Durable Hardware
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-200 is fitted with a bone nut and saddle, which offers a better sound and is far more durable than a plastic-made one, Moustache bridge with curved block inlays, Crown headstock inlay and Graduated Crown mother of pearl fingerboard inlays, a J-200 style pickguard with two-colour graphics and a Fishman Sonicore under-saddle pickup and Sonitone preamp.
