Game-changing technology aside, the Yamaha FSC-TA acoustic guitar is a high-quality instrument that boasts slick playability and a bold, articulate tone. The staple pairing of Mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka Spruce top provides a beautiful balance of warmth and clarity whilst the scalloped bracing improves projection. The concert-size body features a cutaway for easy upper fret access and a tapered waist for extra playing comfort.

The Nato neck is partnered with a smooth bound Rosewood fretboard. The neck’s slim, tapered profile, smooth satin finish and slightly shorter scale length make the guitar a truly effortless instrument to play. Beginners will find this neck profile a breeze to get to grips with whilst more experienced players will be executing advanced techniques with ease.

TransAcoustic Technology

Yamaha have equipped the FSC-TA electro-acoustic with their groundbreaking TransAcoustic technology, which replicates the experience of playing in a great-sounding room. What separates TransAcoustic-equipped guitars from others with onboard effects is that you can use them unplugged - no external amp or PA system needed! It doesn’t matter if you’re practising or recording in the dryest room, simply engage the TransAcoustic effects and transport yourself to a lively ambient space.

It all comes down to the integrated actuator, a small metal device that’s mounted inside the body of the guitar. The actuator vibrates as you play the guitar, it then transmits the vibrations to the body and the air around the guitar to generate the Reverb and Chorus effects.

Easy To Use

The TransAcoustic system’s straightforward control layout makes it easy to dial in the perfect amount of ambience. The Reverb and Chorus feature a dedicated knob, which increases the intensity of the effect as you turn it up. At the mid-point of the Reverb knob, it transitions from a subtle Room ambience to a more spacious Hall. The Lineout Volume knob doubles as an on/off switch for the effects.

The effects are also translated by the System70 system and SRT piezo pickup when you’re plugged in, giving you greater control over your sound at a gig and saving you from having to use outboard effects or pedals.

Finishing Touches

Yamaha presents the FSC-TA in a variety of eye-catching finishes, including a striking Ruby Red, a natural Vintage Tint and classic Brown Sunburst. The slightly larger FGC-TA model is an alternative to the FSC-TA if you prefer dreadnought-style acoustic guitars.
