Surfy Industries create portable guitar effects inspired by classic vintage sounds. The SurfyBear Reverb Tank is Surfy Industries’ flagship reverb unit that has the same controls as the original Fender 6G15 contained in a compact, vintage-style ‘tank’.
The SurfyBear Reverb Tank has a wooden enclosure covered with a Fender-style tolex, available in Black, Brown and Blonde to provide a vintage look that would match your vintage amplifier. It has an original Accutronics type-4 spring reverb pan, a ‘Tone’ knob to adjust how bright or dark the sound is, ‘Mixer’ which balances between wet and dry reverb sounds, and ‘Dwell’ which simply adjusts the amount of effect.
In keeping with the vintage style, this unit doesn’t have true bypass, as Surfy Industries wanted to keep it authentic and provide this option for people who prefer this effect but still want a more compact unit that the original Fender 6G15. The SurfyBear Reverb Tank shares the same specs as the original, but use JFET transistor technology (not a digital effect), instead of the original tubes.
The SurfyBear Reverb Tank is completed with high-quality Switchcraft components and a steel bottom cover for protection against interference and noise. This would look great sitting on top of a vintage amp and for anyone who wants an authentic vintage look and sound in a compact unit. 12V power supply included.
The SurfyBear Reverb Tank is available in Black, Brown and Blonde.
If you want the same effects with a more modern look, check out the SurfyBear Metal Tank, which has a sturdy black aluminium housing and true bypass.

NO TRUE BYPASS
Is a vintage reverb unit true bypass? Changing the tone a little bit is part of the game here and we wanted to keep it so. We did not invent a new effect, our purpose is to allow everybody to enjoy that sound without carrying around a heavy and expensive instrument.
THE SURFYBEAR PROJECT
The original piece of electronics that started it all! This is a controller which features the same specifications of the Fender® 6G15® reverb unit replacing the tubes with JFET transistor technology. This is not a digital effect.
Spring reverb technology has been well known for more than 50 years. One of the first reverb units available for electric guitars was the Fender® 6G15® standalone reverb, which has set the standard for generations of musicians. Still today, the unique sound of spring reverbs is very popular among guitarists.
A detailed description of the Fender® 6G15® reverb can be found on the SurfGuitar101 Wiki.
