Crowther Audio Double Hotcake Overdrive Pedal Overview
The Crowther Audio Double Hotcake fuzz has two double the fun of the regular Hotcake, and then some! First you've got the A Hot Cake, which is a Bluesberry version, and then you've got the B Hot Cake, a normal version. The "Bluesberry" voicing of the Hotcake takes away any of the buzzy edge at the onset of distortion, and often works well when guitarists have amplifiers with extra extreme treble boost, like some Marshalls for instance). Both have the regular Hot Cake three knobs set-up and their own footswitch.
The fun realliy starts when both Hotcakes are switched on together though, the A Hotcake drives the B and its controls are bypassed, but there's and extra Drive control in the middle which is switched in to adjust the its gain. There is also an extra clipping stage and a reduction in low frequencies to give you and amazing, super high gain, lead tone. The A Hotcake has the usual buffered bypass (the circuit becomes a buffer in bypass mode), while the B Hotcake is hard bypassed using gold plated contacts.
