Schecter Avenger FR S Apocalypse, Blue Reign Overview
Schecter is renowned for crafting electric guitars with powerful tones, silky-smooth playability, striking aesthetics and the capability to be played across the entire frequency range. This makes them the perfect choice for guitar players that need to play huge riffs low down on the neck or face-melting solos at the top end. Regularly seen used in more aggressive and heavier music, Schecter is a spectacular choice among Metal, Hardcore, Punk, Prog and Alternative guitar players.
The Avenger FR-S is part of Schecter’s Apocalypse series which is designed for extreme metal players, with models that produce brutal sounds with next-level features that have looks to match.
This model has a Swamp Ash body with an arched top, a maple/padauk multi-ply neck with a Thin ‘C’ profile and carbon fibre reinforcement rods to provide extra strength. This is topped with an ebony fretboard with a 12” - 16” compound radius and 24 extra-jumbo frets.
It also features Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners and a Floyd Rose 1500 series bridge and nut which has a pop-in arm and stainless steel hardware. The Apocalypse FR-S has a 25.75” scale length and comes with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010-.046).
For pickups, it has a Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI pickup at the bridge, which delivers a balanced yet aggressive sound and is able to offer a crushing mid-range while keeps a tight, articulate response. At the neck position is a Sustainiac pickup which simulates the feedback circuit like when you stand near a loud amp, and the Sustainiac works by taking the signal from the bridge pickup, amplifying it, maintaining it and then feeding it to the driver at the neck, which works as an electromagnet to move the strings. Included is a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment so the note lasts as long as the battery lasts.
To complete the Avenger FR-S is Roman Numeral inlays with luminlay glow-in-the-dark side markers, satin black hardware and is available striking in Red Reign and Blue Reign finishes.
