Ibanez RG631ALF Axion Label, Blue Chameleon Overview
This model is part of the Axion Label series which uses ultra-modern and less common features. This model has a Nyatoh body and a Nitro Wizard 5 piece Panga Panga and Walnut neck, so it has a slim neck profile, and both woods are fairly porous which gives it a natural, unique look. The neck is topped with a Macassar fretboard with 24 Jumbo Sub-Zero treated frets - this temperature treatment makes the frets more durable and hard wearing.
For pickups it has a Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Alnico pickup at the neck, providing a full, boosted articulation, as well as crisp, clean humbucker tones, and a Fluence Modern Humbucker Ceramic pickup at the bridge, which provides a crunch crisp bass, and also a high output passive ceramic sound with great distortion characteristics. There’s also a Gibraltar Standard II hardtail bridge, luminescent side dots, and off-set white dot inlays which run along the top from frets 1-12, then are set at the bottom edge of the fretboard from frets 12 - 24, which is ideal to see where you are when you’re playing the higher notes on the fretboard.
Other features include Schaller S-Locks strap lock pins, so you don’t need to worry about the strap coming off while playing, and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads. It has a subtle and tasteful Blue Chameleon finish which is also on the headstock, and black pickguard.
