High-End Design

Some of the technical innovations from the high-end SX-Series have been used in the AX models - with chamfered upper corners on the fronts of the cabinets to minimize edge diffraction so there’s no issues with phase cancellation. The interior of the speakers have a special fleece that prevents the internal resonance from being disturbed and ensures a better bass reflex tuning. The power switch and volume control are on the front panel to make them easier to get to and use, while the front-firing bass ports let you set up monitors closer to a wall.

Handmade Ribbon Tweeters

Each AX Series monitor has a ribbon tweeter, which has become the quintessential characteristic of ADAM and synonymous with their speaker ranges.

The X-ART tweeter that features in the AX Series is handmade in Berlin and is an excellent piece of craftsmanship. The membrane consists of a pleated diaphragm, which enables the air to be squeezed in and out more efficiently, much like the bellows of an accordion. The result is a magnificent dynamic range and ensures you experience less distortion when driving the speakers.

Perfect In Any Room

The ‘Tweeter Gain’ function is on all models and lets you raise or lower the level of high frequencies by up to 4dB, while all models apart from the A3X have shelving filters that adjust to room acoustics, with the low shelf filter allowing smooth control of the lower frequencies below 300Hz with +/- 6dB, and the high shelf EQ starts at 2.5kHz with +/- 6dB

More Reliable and Durable Amplifier Technology

All models feature an A/B amplifier that drives the X-ART tweeter, and in all but the A3X model, the bass/mid-range woofers are each driven by powerful and highly efficient pulse-width modulated (PWM) amplifiers that don’t need additional heat sinks and are more reliable and durable than other amplifiers.

High-Quality Woofer Materials

The AX Series also uses rigid woofer materials - all models aside from the A3X are built using a sandwich construction of woven carbon and glass fibre with the synthetic material Rohacell, which combined provide a super lightweight yet extremely rigid material with great transient response, while the A3X is made from carbon fibre - an extremely resistant material.
