Yamaha EZ-300 Portable 61 Key-Lighting Keyboard, Ex-Display Overview

The Yamaha EZ-300 is a great keyboard for beginners, with light-up keys making it easier to learn to play.

202 built-in songs
The Yamaha EZ-300 has a wide range of songs to learn in 9 different categories - Pop, Favorite, Instrument Master, Piano Repertoire, Learn to Play, Favorite with Style, Japanese Song, Duet, and Piano Solo. You can also use your computer to transfer MIDI songs so you can play along with them.

Light-up keys
The 61 light-up keys help guide you as you’re learning - this unique visual aspect is perhaps the easiest way to learn - as opposed to just labelling the keys. This function will let you improve much faster.

Keys To Success
This feature divides songs up into shorter phrases or ‘Steps’, letting you practice more bite-sized sections as opposed to the whole song, and you can also slow the tempo down so you catch everything. It’s also like having a real piano teacher available as each time you play all the way through the current step, your performance will be evaluated.

Voices
The EZ-300 has 622 built-in sounds (called Voices) that cover a wide range of musical instruments, including ‘Live’ Voices that are recorded samples from a grand piano, strings, and bass, providing you with incredibly authentic sounds.

Touch Response
This means the volume of the keys are directly affected by how strongly or softly you press the keys - similar to an acoustic piano.

Backing tracks
There are 205 ‘Styles’ (backing tracks)- get the appropriate backing track (rhythm + bass + chord accompaniment), which you can control just by playing root notes or chords with your left hand.

Instruction categories
Touch Tutor lets you refine your playing strength, Chord Study lets you learn individual chords, and Chord Progression lets you learn different chord progressions.

There’s also a built-in metronome to help you keep in time, the option to record your performance with a single button press, and the ability to connect a smartphone so you can use the Yamaha Rec’n’Share app that lets you record audio and video, as well as songs from your music library, then share your performances.

The Yamaha EZ-300 is an incredible option for beginners and is designed with entry-level learners in mind, from the light-up keys to the lesson functions.
