The Way Huge Atreides isn’t like anything we’ve encountered in a stompbox before - it’s something special indeed. Inspired by both the vintage Electro Harmonix Mini-Synth and a weapon from the sci-fi classic Dune, the Atreides is a sure-fire way to add synthy fatness to your sound. Synth/Fuzz/Phaser/Sub

It’s a monophonic (one-note at a time) multi-layered effect, that combines a synth engine with a girthy sub-octave generator, monolithic fuzz and a swooshing phaser. It effectively turns your instrument into a fat monosynth that’s been enhanced with tasty effects. These effects can blended together for truly jaw-dropping tones. The slider-based interface makes it easy to visualise how the different sections and their parameters are mixed (they also have LEDs which light up when the pedal is turned on).

Intuitive Slider Interface

Control-wise, the synth engine features Sensitivity and Range sliders which affect the vocal envelope of the synth engine. Next, we have Bright and Fuzz, which affects the tonal character of the Fuzz and the amount. Finally, we have Rate and Sub, which determine the speed of the phaser and how much of the Sub Octave is blended in.

Choose Your Weapon

The Atreides works well with guitar and bass, with an internal control to change the sub-octave to one or two octaves below the incoming signal. There’s also an internal pot which allows you to adjust the phaser’s feedback.
