Vintage VE660VB Electro Acoustic, Vintage Burst Overview
Rich, and warm sounding with a supern clarity and note seperation, the VE660, as with all of Vintage's 'Historic Series', retains the heart of yesteryear whilst still being a contemporary design with modern features.
Solid spruce is the selected tonewood for the soundboard, and the VE660's well rounded tone and response to the lightest fingerpicking is testament the craftmanship to Vintage's luthiers, while the Mahogany back, sides, and neck retain the ability for a broad dynamic range whilst retaining clarity and note separation with strummed chords. An excellent acoustic tone and timbre is standard issue with this guitar, however, electro-acoustic players will not be disappointed; a Fishman Sonitone preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup, ensures the guitar’s natural and uncompromised tone can easily be delivered to external sources such as a mixing desk, amps, monitors or PA systems.

What Vintage say:
Available in drop shoulder dreadnought, parlour or orchestra body designs, the Vintage Historic Series of electro-acoustic guitars have a magnificent voice to match their dimensions.
Rich, warm and with a long throw highlights the theme throughout, with all models featuring mahogany bodies and necks. Solid spruce is the selected tonewood for the soundboards, chosen not only for its well rounded tone and response to the lightest fingerpicking, but also for its ability to translate a broad dynamic range whilst retaining clarity and note separation within enthusiastically strummed chords.
The Vintage design team have once again excelled within designing acoustic guitars that have that unable-to-put-down, played-in neck and fingerboard, whilst the skilfully applied open-pore satin finish evokes a subtle patina that spruce and mahogany cultivates over the years, without looking worn out.
There’s certainly an essence of yesteryear within the excellent Historic Series, where well thought out cosmetics speak for themselves. The beautiful Vintage Burst finish for example, the open headstock design with smooth open geared machines, the ivory white body binding and matching petite, soundhole inlay.
The open-pore satin finish visually evokes a well loved ‘under the bed’ guitar, and the thin lacquer finish also preserves the natural tonewood sonic characteristics. This allows the soundboard to vibrate freely for a livelier, brighter string response, whilst the Fishman Sonitone preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup, ensures the guitar’s natural tone is delivered uncoloured to external sources such as a mixing desk, amps, monitors or PA systems.
