Overview By GAK
The TaylorWare TaylorSense Health Monitoring System is the perfect companion for your Taylor Electro-Acoustic Guitar. Designed specifically to check the vital signs of your guitar’s health, including Humidity, Battery Life, Temperature and Impact.
Are you worried about the battery cutting-out mid-gig? Maybe you’re concerned about the humidity damaging your guitar? Perhaps you’re on tour in a hot country or fearful about the heavy-handed baggage handlers at the Airport?
With TaylorSense, you can keep tabs on your precious instruments and receive alerts on your phone the moment your guitar needs your care. Better yet, Taylor has shared their extensive guitar care expertise, by including easy-to-follow videos showing you how to solve any problems that may arise.
The system is made up of a Smart Battery-Box, that connects to the free TaylorSense app via Bluetooth. Once you have established a connection between the Battery-Box and your compatible iOS or Android device, you can instantly start caring for your beautiful guitar.
Protection Against Extreme Humidity
Extended exposure to low or high humidity levels can wreak havoc on an acoustic guitar. It’s probably the main issue we deal with in our Acoustic Guitar department and is the main thing to look out for when owning an Acoustic.
Not only will it compromise the playability and tone, but it can also lead to serious damage. Dry conditions can cause the wood to crack, while wet conditions can cause glue joints to fail and the finish to lift.
Your TaylorSense battery box features a digital hygrometer that monitors the humidity level of your Taylor guitar. If the humidity levels remain too low (or high) for an extended period of time, you’ll receive a humidity alert and a link to information on how to remedy your guitar’s condition.
Being based in Brighton, UK, we truly understand the importance of monitoring the humidity levels around your guitar collection!
Steer Clear of Heat Waves & Cold Spells
In addition to the risk of exposing your guitar to high or low humidity, the weather can also cause major issues with your guitar.
Prolonged exposure to high heat can cause the glues to soften and the bridge to come loose under the string tension. Even something as simple as leaving your guitar in a car on a hot summer day can severely damage your guitar.
Heat isn’t the only issue, as the guitar’s wood can also suffer damage if the guitar experiences a quick change in temperature in a short time. Going from extremely cold to hot conditions in a short period of time is very dangerous for your guitar - those who have played outside know the feeling.
You can rest easy once more, as TaylorSense monitors the temperature of your guitar. When that temperature becomes dangerous to your Taylor guitar, you’ll receive an alert and a link to helpful advice from Taylor’s service team.
Especially useful for our UK based customers!
Keep Your Battery From Dying On Stage
There’s nothing worse than experiencing the embarrassment of your guitar cutting out mid-gig. To help avoid the blank stares from the audience and wrath of judgement from grumpy sound engineers, TaylorSense keeps a handle on your pickup system’s battery life, alerting you when you reach 30%.
If you like to live life on the edge, TaylorSense will send you a secondary more urgent alert when the battery drops to 10% power, making sure you don’t arrive at your next performance shorthanded.
We all want peace of mind when we plugin, especially when it comes to battery life. If you’re nervous about how much power is left in your 9v battery, you can also check your battery life anytime through the TaylorSense App.
Know When Your Guitar Takes A Hit
While TaylorSense can’t prevent your guitar from being dropped, knocked over, or roughed up during your travels, it can let you know if it suffers a serious blow. If your guitar takes a hit, TaylorSense will notify you so you can inspect it more closely for damage. TaylorSense also records the time of the incident, which can help you identify the probable cause. That can come in handy if the incident occurs after you’ve checked your guitar with an airline or when the guitar is at home with kids or pets around.
