Sterling Mariposa, Pueblo Pink Overview
The Mariposa was designed in collaboration with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta, resulting in a bold, unique guitar with modern features. This model has an offset Nyatoh body, a roasted maple neck which is durable and less susceptible to temperature changes, and a smooth rosewood fretboard with 22 frets. It also has locking tuners and a vintage tremolo for reliable tuning stability.
For pickups, it has a pair of custom humbuckers that provide have a dynamic range and provide the classic warm humbucker tones, with a 3-way pickup switcher to easily switch between sounds, and each pickup has it’s own volume knob. The guitar is completed with a white pickguard, white pearloid block inlays and classic Imperial White finish with matching headstock.

The Music Man Mariposa guitar is the latest design collaboration between the award-winning Ernie Ball Music Man design team and celebrated Mars Volta/At the Drive-in composer/guitarist Omar Rodriquez-Lopez. Highlighting features are an offset lightweight African mahogany body, roasted maple neck and ebony fingerboard that showcases pearlescent style block inlays. Electronics include two custom wound Ernie Ball Music Man humbucking pickups with separate volume control for each pickup, controlled by a 3-way pickup selector switch that allows for variable humbucking combinations when needed. The pickguard is laser etched with an ornate design coordinated to compliment specific finish options. Other appointments include medium profile 22 stainless steel frets, gold and chrome hardware options, matching headstock, and Ernie Ball Music Man smooth tremolo system.
