Sheeran by Lowden W-02 Compact Electro Acoustic, Indian Rosewood/Spruce Overview

Sheeran by Lowden is a collaboration between one of the pop world’s biggest stars and a legendary Northern Irish boutique acoustic builder. It has yielded some incredibly impressive acoustic designs, ideal for those who prefer a more compact body shape and require quality electronics for the stage & studio. They are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility in the UK and represent incredible value for money when you consider the build quality and specs on offer.

The W Series models have the WL (wee Lowden) body size as it was originally designed for Ed Sheeran, making it great for travelling, taking between gigs, and any time you just want to pick up and play without compromising on quality. Despite its smaller size, it produces a deep voice and clear projection and is ideal for singer-songwriters as the sound works well with vocals.

The Sheeran by Lowden W-02 has a 5-piece Indian Rosewood body that delivers deep lows, a bright top end, and more scooped mids. Whether you’re fingerpicking or strumming it will sound great. It has Lowden A-Frame bracing, and the top is made from Sitka Spruce, which delivers a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation and is also great for various playing styles. All the tonewoods used in this range are carefully selected from naturally felled trees, while another is planted in its place to make it sustainable.

The neck is made from mahogany which adds to the warmth and sustain of the body, is topped with a durable 20-fret ebony fretboard, as well as an ebony bridge. The nut and saddle are made from TUSQ, which produces notes that have more sustain with a clearer and sharper tone, lasting longer and being more reliable than bone nuts.

The W-02 has an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup which reflects the natural dynamics of the guitar, delivering a superior warmth and natural balance of tone, and the controls are subtly mounted inside the soundhole making it easy to adjust your levels and live performers can hook it up to an acoustic amp or PA system for gigs.

The W-02 is completed with chrome tuners, Lowden 12-53 strings, a natural finish and a gig bag so you’re ready to take it anywhere.
