The new Roland CY-18DR is for drummers who want to stamp personality on their playing. With acoustic-style 18" dimensions and authentic swing motion, this newly developed digital V-Cymbal is instantly familiar and highly playable. But it also features Roland’s latest technology; a high-resolution, multi-sensor system within the cymbal pad which detects every nuance of your hard and soft touches, in every position from edge to bell.
The CY-18DR digital ride gives expressive drummers more dynamics than ever before, supporting techniques from cymbal legato to soft bell stroke, and even lets you mute the sound with a finger-touch – simply touch the bell or bow of the cymbal with a finger or palm to mute the cymbal with natural decay, just as you would with an acoustic ride cymbal. To enjoy the optimum performance from this groundbreaking cymbal, it must be paired with the processing power and digital trigger inputs of Roland’s new flagship TD-50 sound module.
