Roland HP-702 Digital Piano, White Overview
The introduction to the Roland HP Series, with supreme playability and a 10-Year Warranty.
Overview By GAK
The Roland HP702 is a premium upright Digital Piano that introduces Roland’s HP Series. It’s the perfect choice for beginners or families that want their piano to last, as the HP702 introduces Roland’s 10-year warranty. The cabinet is larger than the F or RP Series pianos and smaller than a traditional Acoustic Upright.
Available in four different natural woodgrain finishes; Charcoal Black, Dark Rosewood, Light Oak and White.
Progressive Hammer Action
Unlike the upgraded HP704, the HP702 features the extremely popular PHA-4 Key Action. The PHA-4 is a progressive hammer action, where each key has its own individual weight, getting lighter from left to right. This makes the keys feel the same weight as an acoustic.
The PHA-4 features ivory feel keys, which are made from a composite textured core. Lastly, the PHA-4 features a particular nuance called Escapement. This can be felt when slowly depressing a key, where halfway down, you will feel a slight “notch” in the mechanism. This is what happens when performing the same movement as an Acoustic Piano action, making the PHA-4 a faithfully accurate piano keybed.
SuperNATURAL Piano Modelling
Roland has gone to an immense level of detail to make the HP702 sound like one too. The heaviest criticism Digital Pianos are given, usually stem from pianists claiming they do not have any “character”. Roland has used their groundbreaking SuperNATURAL Piano Modelling technology to ensure the HP702 has the character of an Acoustic.
SuperNATURAL Piano Modelling technology uses the smallest details of an Acoustic’s sound to create a more realistic sound. With SuperNATURAL Piano Modelling the sound of the HP702 is constantly evolving. Its dynamic range and tone are something to be admired.
Design Your Own Piano Sound
There are 4 modelled piano sounds to choose from. These can be customised to your specific preference internally or with the use of the Roland Piano Designer app.
Piano Designer gives the user the ability to adjust the most detailed components of the HP702’s modelled piano sounds. You can change everything from string resonance, damper resonance, key-off sound, cabinet material and many others. There are even key specific settings for tuning, tonal character and volume.
The HP702 also includes all the essential sounds required by the modern keyboard player.
All The Sounds You Could Ever Need
With over 300 sounds to choose from, you can find all the necessary sounds/instruments you need to create music. Choose between Pianos, Upright Pianos, E.Pianos, Organs, Strings, Guitars/Basses, Synth, Orchestral Woodwind/Brass/Percussion/Plucked Tones and even Drum Kits.
Bluetooth
You can connect your Roland HP702 to your favourite Smart Device via Bluetooth, unlocking a world of useful features. By using Bluetooth MIDI, Roland has created an interactive experience for pianists.
The HP702 is compatible with both Third Party and dedicated Roland apps. You can trigger the sounds of softsynths, record MIDI notes to tablet-based recording software and integrate with educational apps. You can even play games!
The Roland HP702 can even stream audio through its internal speakers. This makes playing along to songs more fun and enjoyable, without a messy cable spoiling the traditional look of your elegant cabinet.
Pair your Roland HP702 with a Roland Piano Bench for maximum comfort and a matching colour scheme.
