First introduced in 1976, the StingRay has been revered as one of the most iconic bass guitars in history. The StingRay was the first production four string bass to feature on-board active equalization. The flagship of the Music Man line, today’s StingRay is the same as it was some forty years ago featuring a solid roadworthy construction, massive hardened steel bridge, elegant oval pickguard, 3+1 tuning key configuration, and the ever popular Music Man humbucker. All of which combined produce a look, feel and sound that are remarkably unmistakable.

The bass features a meticulously carved, comfortable, lightweight body made from ash. This remains effortless to use, even during the longest live shows! This is augmented by a select maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. Both allow for quick and precise playing, letting you move smoothly up and down them both. Versatile Electronics
A single humbucker (with alnico magnets) nestles in the bridge position, providing a powerful tone, with a welcome amount of articulation and precision. The sound is bolstered further by an onboard active 9v, 3-band preamp. This gives you the control to shape and mould your perfect tone, while simultaneously creating more than enough headroom.
