JHS Pedals Sweet Tea V3 Overdrive Distortion Pedal Overview
The Sweet Tea V3 combines two popular JHS pedals, Angry Charlie and Moonshine, and puts them into one pedal, delivering a wide range of medium-to-high gain tones that are great for various styles of music, making this a really versatile pedal that’s worthy of a spot on your pedalboard.
The left side is the Angry Charlie V3, which offers saturated JCM-800 style tones and the famous ‘brown sound’ from cranking up a Marshall. It also has an EQ section of Bass, Middle, and Treble, just like the amp, giving you lots of control and flexibility over your sound.
The right side has the Moonshine, delivering gritty, tube screamer-style tones. The newest version has a Clean control that lets you mix in your unaffected signal, and there’s also a Proof toggle switch, providing two different distortion settings - down is a lower volume with a more saturated sound, and flicking it up provides a louder and more open crunch.
In the middle of the pedal between the two sections is an Order toggle switch, which lets you pick the order of the signal path, letting you really define your sound.
This pedal is great if you’re looking for a wide range over overdriven tones, from screaming tube-like overdrive to British high-gain distortion. It has an attractive look, with vintage knobs and toggle switches, and a ‘Sweet Tea’ coloured casing (or perhaps to match the ‘brown sound’ of the Angry Charlie?) as well as a straight-forward layout.

MOONSHINE ON THE RIGHT
The right side is our brand new Moonshine V2 which is a highly unique and massively tweaked version of the most famous overdrive ever created, housed in a little green enclosure. The Moonshine V2 has the classic mid-heavy tones that you’d expect but with more gain, volume, and tones available than you ever thought possible. The Moonshine V2 has the same core sound as the Moonshine Version 1 but we have added a new “Clean” knob to blend in the perfect amount of clean signal with your overdrive signal.
ANGRY CHARLIE ON THE LEFT
On the left side is our newest version of the Angry Charlie which is the Angry Charlie V3, one of our most popular pedals of the last few years. High gain JCM 800 type “Brown” sound tone that we believe is the most accurate Marshall tone ever put in a stompbox! It has Volume, Drive, and the full Bass, Mid, and Treble tone stack like you’d find on the amp. With the full tone stack and the amazingly accurate amp tones in this circuit, you’ll be begging for more!
