Innovative Multi-Scale Neck

One of the highlights of the Ibanez SRMS625EX’s feature-set is its multi-scale Maple & Walnut neck. The multi-scale construction provides an unparalleled level of playing comfort as it ergonomically coordinates with the angle of your hand as it slides up and down the neck. Beautiful Playability

The SRMS625EX’s 5pc Maple/Walnut neck is topped with a smooth Ebonol fretboard and 24 Medium frets. Ebonol is a highly durable synthetic material that’s constructed from multiple layers of black paper and phenolic resin. Tonally, the combination of the Maple/Walnut and Ebonol contributes to a defined attack and fantastic tonal clarity.

Powerful Tone

At the core of the SRMS625EX’s rich and powerful tone is its contoured Okoume body. Okoume is tonally akin to Mahogany and features a strident mid-range with plenty of resonance.

Amplifying the natural voice of this bass are the pro-grade Bartolini BH2 pickups. These potent active pickups are primed for heavier genres with their punchy mids, tight lows and growling highs. The BH2 pickups boast a dual-coil style configuration (which optimises note articulation) and a long blade pole-piece (which provides a balanced string-to-string response).

Flexible Active EQ

The sonic versatility of the SRMS625EX is catered for by the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ. This streamlined and highly effective EQ control allows you to sculpt the tone of this bass however you see fit and ensure that it slots perfectly into a mix.

There’s a 3-way Mid frequency switch, which gives you the ability to select the frequency of the mid-tone (250, 450 & 700Hz) and an EQ Bypass switch. In active mode, the EQ control allows you to make precise tonal adjustments. You can also switch over to passive-only operation, which transforms the Treble control knob into a global Tone control.
