Ibanez AE245JR Junior Grand Auditorium Acoustic, Open Pore Natural Overview
Overview by GAK
The AE245JR is an electro-acoustic guitar with a smaller body, making it great for beginners, younger players, or for travelling. The body is made from Okoume, which is a tonewood from Central Africa that’s a more lightweight and sustainable alternative to mahogany that produces a full, rich sound. The Nyatoh neck is mounted with a fretboard made from Katalox, which is an extremely dense wood from Mexico and Central America and great for durability. The 20-fret fingerboard also has a specially-designed decorative wood vine inlay which complements the woods of the fretboard and body. There’s also the Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, which are designed to make it easier to take them in and out, so you can change the strings easier. For the electronics, it has an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup which helps equalize the volume of each string and an Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp.
