Production of the J-200 (initially called the Super Jumbo, then Super Jumbo 200) started in 1937, and this - Gibson's top of the line flat top, has undergone several changes during its long production span, causing its design to evolve into this current and impressive model.

Classic character, superb electronics, superior timbre, and a clear tone are all part of what makes the Gibson Acoustic SJ-200 Deluxe such an unforgettable play. This "King of Flat Tops" produces a loud, clear, and distinctive voice via its solid Sitka Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides, which can so easily be amplified without compromise using its LR Baggs VTC electronics. And with that sweet "Round" profile Mahogany neck stretching under a modern Richlite fretboard, classic Gibson acoustic fans will feel pleasantly at home, while newcomers will feel astounded by its quality and playability. Real bone saddles, Graph Tech Tusq bridge pins, a Richlite bridge, and Gibson's superb attention to detail are just some of the features which finish this model to a more than impressive standard.
