Fender Joe Strummer Campfire Acoustic, Matte Black Overview

This model is part of the Fender Artist series, which recreates renowned musicians preferred guitars with custom specs, unique finishes and other less common features.

Joe Strummer was the angry young man of punk and legendary frontman of the Clash, and this Artist Series model takes inspiration from the campfires he set up and played at while at Glastonbury Festival.

This Joe Strummer Campfire Acoustic model has a Malibu body shape with a solid Spruce top and laminated Mahogany back and sides, available in Matte Black with a Satin finish. The neck is made from Mahogany with a comfortable Slim ‘C’ shape, topped with a durable 20-fret Walnut fretboard, and also has a modern Viking bridge with nickel hardware and star inlays to complete the subtle but unique look. Deluxe Gigbag included!

Overview by Fender

Designed in conjunction with the Strummer estate, the Joe Strummer Campfire pays homage to the Clash’s articulate and fiery co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead singer. All his life, he vigorously championed individuality, self-expression and change, and firmly believed in the power of community. Inspired by the legendary campfires that Strummer held backstage at the Glastonbury festival, this small-body acoustic-electric is the perfect companion for gatherings of any size. Featuring a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, the Campfire reflects Strummer’s aesthetic with its matte black finish, nickel hardware, and star inlays. 40 years after the Clash’s iconic album, London Calling, was released in the United States, the legacy of Joe Strummer continues to live on, grow louder, and shake up the establishment.
