Fender American Vintage II Series
Browse our RangePremium US-built guitars and basses that celebrate Fender’s classic models, boasting era-accurate specs that take you back through Fender’s history.
The Fender American Vintage II series is perfect for the guitarist or bassist who wants a genuinely authentic '50s, '60s or '70s playing experience. Every model in the American Vintage II range celebrates a historically important year in Fender’s history. That’s why every one features a period-correct finish, neck profile, tonewood selection and heirloom-quality pickups that are specific to the year the guitar was made. Combined with the Fender Corona factory’s world-class craftsmanship, you can expect your American Vintage II series guitar or bass to look, feel and sound like you went back to that decade and bought it brand new.
If you’ve been lusting after a Golden Era Fender guitar, this series is the best you can get outside the Fender Custom Shop or paying an extraordinary price on the second-hand market for the real deal. Fender have truly gone all out to make each model a true replica of the original. Vintage Fender connoisseurs appreciate the differences between each year of manufacture and the unique qualities that can entail. The American Vintage II range stays true to this, with each model featuring faithful specs that correspond to the year it was built. For example, the '57 Stratocaster’s spec is matched to the original, from the selection of nitrocellulose finishes to the 7.25" fretboard radius. Every guitar is also outfitted with year-specific Pure Vintage pickups that are specially voiced for maximum sonic authenticity.
Whilst the American Professional and American Ultra ranges have a modern edge, the American Vintage II series was created for the player that appreciates the tone and feel of vintage Fender guitars. The only notable differences between these reissues and the originals are Vintage Tall frets (which are slightly taller than genuine vintage frets for improved playability) and 5-way switching on the Stratocasters.
