ESP LTD EX-Black Metal, Black Satin Overview
This model is part of the Limited Black Metal Series, which has a similar build and features as the Limited Deluxe 1000 series, but comes in classic all-black finishes, the inverse of the Arctic Metal series, which has striking frozen white finishes.
The ESP LTD EX-Black Metal has a mahogany body with a 3-piece maple neck in a Thin ‘U’ profile making it extra comfortable to play and is topped with a Macassar ebony fretboard with 22 extra-jumbo frets. It also has LTD locking tuners and a Tonepros locking Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece.
The LTD EX-Black Metal has an EMG 81 pickup, a classic metal pickup which provides lots of high-end cut and smooth sustain, with a great distorted tone. The look is completed with black hardware, glow-in-the-dark side markers and no inlays to keep it looking sleek and simple, and a Black Satin finish with matching headstock.

The LTD Black Metal Series is comparable in build quality to our LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” instruments, but with a dark and menacing design theme of all-black finish, components, and hardware, a single premium-quality pickup, Macassar ebony fingerboards with no inlays and glow-in-the-dark side markers, and even a newly-designed black metal LTD logo on the headstock. The EX Black Metal features set-thru construction, 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, a TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece, and a single direct-mount EMG 81 pickup with black logo.
