ESP E-II Alexi Ripped, Purple Faded Satin Overview
The ESP E-II Alexi Ripped in Purple Faded Satin is a high-performance electric guitar that’s primed for hard-hitting, technically-demanding styles. The ESP Alexi Ripped was one of the final guitars designed by Alexi Laiho, the Children of Bodom & Bodom After Midnight legend. Crafted by ESP Japan’s world-class luthiers using select tonewoods and top-notch components, there’s no doubt that the ESP E-II Alexi Ripped is a premium metal machine.
Elegant Metal Machine
The ESP E-II Alexi Ripped’s neck-through-body features a striking offset V shape, a staple of Alexi Laiho’s signature models. Combining a solid 3-piece Maple neck, Ebony fretboard (which is scalloped from fret 19 to 24) and Alder body wings, the ESP Alexi Ripped delivers a bold, balanced and articulate natural tone. The 25.5" scale neck is sculpted to a super-fast Thin U profile, perfect for elegant soloing and blistering riffs, whilst the natural satin finish provides a buttery-smooth playing experience. The Ebony fretboard is topped with 24 XJ frets, which facilitate effortless note bending and improve sustain. The eye-catching sawtooth inlays and glow-in-the-dark markers ensure you’ll always be in the right position - whether you’re practising at home or performing on a dark stage.
Powerful Tone
Electrifying the ESP E-II Alexi Ripped’s commanding voice are a pair of powerful EMG pickups. Out of all the Alexi Laiho signature models, the Ripped is the first to feature two pickups, giving it an extra level of versatility. The bridge is equipped with a high-output EMG HZ FH-2, a ceramic pickup that retains its punchiness, presence and clarity - no matter how much gain you throw at it. The neck is outfitted with an EMG HZ S2 stacked single-coil, which boasts a crisp and detailed tone with a sweet mid-range.
Onboard Preamp
When you want to kick it up a notch, you can reach for the E-II Alexi Ripped’s ESP MM-04 active boost switch. The MM-04 has become a key part of Alexi Laiho’s iconic tone and is a mainstay of his various signature models. This preamp circuit can add up to +18dB of boost when engaged and features adjustable EQ settings so you can sculpt your sound however you see fit.
Premium Hardware
Rounding the E-II Alexi Ripped’s impressive feature-set is its high-end hardware. Thanks to the Gotoh locking tuners and double-locking Floyd Rose Original bridge, you can aggressively whammy, squeal and dive-bomb - and be confident that you’ll return to spot-on pitch. The gorgeous Purple Fade Satin finish and painted black satin “ripped” pinstripes give the ESP Alexi Ripped a sleek, distinctive look that stands out from the pack. Alongside a pro-quality instrument, ESP also includes a form fit V-Alexi hard case so you can safely transport your E-II Alexi Ripped to your next performance.
The ESP E-II Alexi Ripped is a fitting tribute to one of metal’s best-loved and most revered musicians. If you’re a fan of Alexi Laiho’s incendiary playing and tone, this stunning Japanese-made guitar is a must-play.
