Epiphone Thunderbird IV Bass, Vintage Sunburst Overview
The Epiphone Thunderbird Bass is based around the Gibson original - first issued from the legendary Kalamazoo factory in 1963 and for a time the only bass available from Gibson or Epiphone. With its unique "reversed" zig-zag body shape and equally distinct headstock - both the the brainchild of legendary automotive designer and visionary Ray Dietrich - the Thunderbird bass quickly became a rock staple, and has been a staple ever since. Now, the Epiphone Thunderbird makes that same style available to even more players. The Thunderbird-IV features mahogany body wings, and a solid, bolt-on hard maple neck. The Thunderbird has a SlimTaper profile neck, rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, and a 34" scale length.
The Thunderbird-IV also features Epiphone's Thunderbird TB Plus humbucker, which has proven to be one of the Epiphone's most versatile bass pickups, both on the stage and in the studio.
The Epiphone Thunderbird IV is a classic rock beast of a bass. Give one a play today if you need to bring the rock.
