Few pieces of music equipment have achieved the legendary status of Akai Professional’s MPC.
The first MPC was the Roger Linn-designed MPC60, which completely changed the landscape of music production forever. Before the MPC60, samplers were very expensive and out of reach for the majority of music makers. The MPC60, with its more attainable price, 16 velocity-sensitive rubber pads and onboard sample editing functions, was a bona fide game-changer. Finally, producers had access to a versatile machine with which you could write an entire track. If you’re looking for a capable & versatile centrepiece for your studio, an inspiring beat-making companion for the road or simply want to break out of the laptop-based workflow - the Akai Professional MPC series has something for you.

Legendary Roots
A host of iconic artists and producers have gone on to adopt the MPC workflow and make it a key part of their process. Mark Ronson, Kanye West, DJ Shadow, Dr. Dre, Big Boi (of Outkast fame) and, most famously, J Dilla are some of the names that helped to make the MPC an important piece of music history. In fact, J Dilla’s own MPC 3000 resides in the Smithsonian museum - such was its contribution to music and hip-hop.
Classic Workflow
Akai Professional’s modern MPC series builds upon this incredible legacy and elevates the standalone music production centre to new heights. The MPC X, Live II and One combine cutting-edge technology with an immediate and intuitive workflow that made the MPC so beloved in the first place.
Under The Hood
Akai Professional’s MPC series packs plenty of under-the-hood horsepower, thanks to a powerful quad-core ARM processor. This multi-core processor can handle demanding production sessions with ease. Each MPC is equipped with this processor and the innovative MPC Software 2. You’re guaranteed a state-of-the-art music creation tool - no matter whether you go for the One, the Live II or the X.
What we love about the MPC series is how complete and quick it is. Everything you need is right to create a polished track is all inside one sleek, robust box. From the initial idea all the way to final mixdown, it can all be achieved within your MPC.
Immediate Interface
A key part of the MPC experience is immediacy and user-friendliness. That’s why these latest editions are kitted out with an array of hands-controls, including 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive RBG pads, durable buttons and touch-sensitive Q-Link encoders.
Whether you’re tweaking synth parameters, effortlessly navigating through a session or laying down a beat, it’s all at your fingertips with Akai Professional’s MPC series. Akai Professional have equipped each MPC with a crisp and highly responsive touchscreen display, which can be used for rapid sample editing, adjusting instrument parameters, browsing through files and more.
